Calories in Dont equal Calories out!

I thought I would share an “a ha moment” with you, that I had when training a client, as we come up onto this holiday season.  So, consider this:  I had this client training hard, very hard.  She was keeping her food journals and showing up for all of my classes.  Still we could not get her body composition to shift.  I was puzzled.  One day while training, I just casually asked her what her drink of choice was……..guess what it was? PINA COLADAS!  What?  Wait?  Do we realize how caloric that is?  It never occurred to her that a liquid had calories, and definitely not that many.  That is the equivalent to a steak dinner, a yummy steak dinner.  Let’s not fail to mention that we usually don’t have just one!

Liquids have calories, usually a ton, and I don’t know about you, but when I have just spent my hard earned time rocking out in a class for an hour and burned about 350 calories……………..I think twice before getting my full lead coffee drink after class which is usually around 45o calories.  It comes down to Choices.

How long does it take you to burn 350 calories?  How long does it take you to drink a yummy drink, alcoholic or otherwise?  Choices…………….let’s make wise ones.
